As travelers ourselves, we appreciate finding a place that feels like home.
You will be able to play hard all day and come back to the comforts of a modern and impeccably appointed lodge. We are committed to providing our guests with first class amenities, real adventure and a genuine Patagonian experience.
Every aspect of Rio Salvaje has been carefully taken into account. From the apple orchard just off the porch to the native and gently cared for gardens, peace and tranquility will surround you.
Each bedroom is connected with a private bath, appointed to meet standards found at the world’s finest destinations. Guests may choose from double occupancy queen bed rooms or rooms with two oversized twin beds. This is remote without being rugged. Hot water, electricity and privacy make each room a place to enjoy.
After a great day on the water, hors d’ oeuvres will be waiting when you arrive back at the lodge. A full meal of culinary delights will soon follow. Our chefs will personally oversee each detail of meal preparation, selecting the highest quality vegetables, meats, fruits and dairy products. Because we are so near the coast, we are blessed with the availability of some of the finest and freshest seafood anywhere.
The newly built Quincho (Chilean barbeque and dining area) is located just off the main kitchen. Designed to blend the indoor and outdoor world, wall size windows open to the north, south, east and west. Set next to the peaceful sounding Rio Negro River, the Quincho offers spectacular views in all directions.
As part of our package, fine Chilean wine and domestic beer flow freely. Each evening handpicked wines will compliment your sit-down meal.
We appreciate the fact that no two guests are identical and we value your desire to customize your vacation. With our lodge location and purchase of additional property near Hornopirén National Park, we are able to ride horses directly from Rio Salvaje Lodge into the park. These locally raised horses will comfortably transport you back in time to when the first Chilean cowboys explored the temperate forests of Patagonia. In the same vein, if after several days of great trout fishing you would like a different experience you may consider a partial day at a remote hot spring. Our Fjord boat can take you within a short walk of this locally held secret.
